The Pakistan tyre industry is targeting $150 million in exports in FY2026-27, up from $116 million in FY2025-26 and $35 million in FY2021-22. The Commerce Ministry has told the sector it will help ease market-access barriers and grow overseas sales. The FY27 goal is roughly 29% above the previous fiscal year’s export figure.
Government backing and Türkiye access
At a recent meeting chaired by Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, officials and manufacturers discussed hurdles facing Pakistani tyre shipments to Türkiye. Participants were told that some tyre categories already receive concessions under the bilateral Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA)—a deal that lowers duties on selected goods between the two countries. Exporters were asked to share product details and Harmonised System (HS) codes—standard trade classification numbers—so the ministry can raise remaining issues with Turkish authorities.
The same theme surfaced in the National Assembly Standing Committee on Commerce, where a ministry official said the government was offering all possible facilitation for tyre exports.
Who is driving overseas sales
Manufacturers say a large share of shipments already goes to what they call tier-one markets, including the United States and Brazil. Meeting quality and cost expectations in those destinations remains central to keeping orders.
Service Long March (SLM), which started commercial production in 2022, recorded $67 million in exports in FY2025-26—about 58% of the industry’s overseas earnings. The firm is aiming for $100 million in FY2026-27, roughly 49% growth year on year. If it hits that mark, it would make up around two-thirds of the sector’s $150 million target. A senior industry official confirmed those company plans.
In September 2026, SLM shipped $9.5 million worth of tyres, up from $6.9 million in September 2025—about a 38% rise. That month the company accounted for roughly 63% of the sector’s reported $15.1 million in exports.
Chinese technology and manufacturing partnerships have, according to industry accounts, strengthened local plants and helped them serve foreign buyers and add product lines. In passenger-car radial (PCR) tyres—the type fitted on most private cars—Armstrong began export sales in August 2026 and is supplying markets that include the United States. SLM plans to start PCR exports in 2028, widening its overseas range.
Timeline: what has happened so far

- 2022: Service Long March began commercial production.
- FY2025-26: Sector exports reached $116 million; SLM contributed $67 million (about 58%).
- August 2026: Armstrong started passenger-car radial export sales, including to the United States.

- FY2026-27 (target): Industry aims for $150 million; SLM aims for $100 million. SLM’s PCR export start is planned for 2028.
Meeting the FY27 target would, industry and ministry framing suggest, add to foreign-exchange earnings, factory activity, and a broader mix of Pakistani industrial exports.
Aasan alfaaz mein
Pakistan tyre industry ne FY27 mein $150 million export ka target rakha hai. Pehle saal yeh $116 million tha, aur pehle is se bhi kam. Hukumat Türkiye jaise markets mein rasta kholne mein madad karne ka wada kar rahi hai. Agar yeh target mil jaye to mulk ko zyada dollar kamai aur industry mein zyada kaam mil sakta hai.
