The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore has opened UHS MBBS and BDS admissions 2026 against 252 reserved seats in public-sector medical and dental colleges across Punjab for the 2026-27 session. Of these, 214 seats are for MBBS and 38 for BDS. Eligible applicants come from Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
The process follows a policy notified by the Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department on 14 October 2026. Candidates must apply through the relevant UHS admissions portal and meet academic, MDCAT (the medical and dental college admission test) and domicile rules set out in the university notice.
Seat distribution and who can apply
Seat numbers vary by region. ICT has 26 MBBS and 4 BDS seats; AJK has 36 MBBS and 3 BDS; Gilgit-Baltistan has 55 MBBS and 5 BDS. Former FATA has 21 MBBS and 6 BDS seats. Balochistan goodwill quota covers 20 MBBS seats with no BDS allocation listed under that category. Separate Higher Education Commission (HEC) scholarship quotas add 28 MBBS and 10 BDS seats each for Balochistan and for former FATA.
UHS says applicants must have passed MDCAT 2026, 2025 or 2024 from their own province or region. MBBS seekers need at least 55 percent in MDCAT; BDS applicants need at least 50 percent. They must also have passed FSc Pre-Medical or an equivalent 12-year qualification recognised by the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC), with at least 60 percent marks and Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics among the subjects.
A domicile certificate from the relevant province or region is mandatory for the reserved categories. AJK candidates may instead submit a First Class State Subject Certificate, Permanent Resident Certificate or Refugee Card from the relevant state authority. Balochistan applicants may provide a Local Certificate from the relevant district authority. Documents must match the regional quota being claimed.
How to apply and key dates
Eligible students apply online only. MBBS quota applicants use quotambbs.uhs.edu.pk; BDS applicants use quotabds.uhs.edu.pk. After reviewing the policy and prospectus on the UHS website, they register with name, email, CNIC, passport or CRC number, mobile number and password, then complete a profile covering domicile, contact details, address, nationality, gender and date of birth, and select the seat category they qualify for.
They enter SSC and HSSC marks, exam years, subjects and MDCAT results, and upload required documents as PNG or JPG files of no more than 500 KB each. For UHS MBBS and BDS admissions 2026, MBBS applications open on Monday 26 October 2026 at 9:00 AM and close on Monday 9 November 2026 at 5:00 PM.
