What happened in Bajaur
On Sunday a light goods vehicle left the carriageway and dropped into a steep gully beside Salai Patay Barang Bridge in Bajaur. Officers confirmed that two small children lost their lives and five other passengers were hurt.
Police named the children who died as Abshar, who was four years old, and Hayan, who was only four months old. Those hurt were listed as Rehmania, 41; Madina, 30; Basweer, 38; Gul Baha, 36; and Halima, who is three.
Injuries and medical care
Among the survivors, Rehmania suffered a broken arm. Emergency crews from Rescue 1122 worked with people from the area to move the wounded and the children’s remains to Kot Hospital. From there, Rescue 1122 ambulances took them onwards to the tehsil headquarters facility in Dargai.
Authorities have not publicly described what caused the vehicle to leave the road. The known facts so far are the place of the fall, the ages and names of those affected, and the path of medical evacuation.
