Two detained over fake Saudi work promises
Federal Investigation Agency teams on Monday took into custody two men from the Rahim Yar Khan belt in an FIA visa fraud inquiry. Officials say the pair collected about Rs1.6 million by offering Saudi Arabian entry papers that were never genuine. The operation was directed by Deputy Director Muhammad Ali Abro.
One man, Arshad Jutt, was picked up in Rahim Yar Khan. The other, Qamar Zaman, was seized in Khanpur. Both are described as Khanpur residents. Investigators say they preyed on people hoping for jobs abroad, using counterfeit paperwork to extract large payments.
How much was allegedly taken
According to the agency, one set of victims lost Rs650,000 and another Rs950,000. Those sums add up to the Rs1.6 million figure cited in the case. Officers also say they recovered counterfeit documents and other items linked to the scheme during the raids.
Sub-Inspector Musarrat Ayub and Hafiz Usman were credited with a central role in the action. The detainees have been shifted to the agency’s Bahawalpur office, where questioning continues.
What investigators want next
Officers are pressing the suspects about a wider FIA visa fraud network—who else may have taken part, and whether more people were cheated. An agency spokesperson said efforts against human trafficking and bogus visa schemes will keep going, and asked the public to confirm that any visa or foreign job pitch is real before paying agents or middlemen.
