Pakistan International Airlines has restarted PIA direct flights to China, reconnecting Islamabad and Beijing after a break in regular service. The first flight on the restored link operated on 30 October, giving travellers a nonstop option between the two capitals again.

Weekly Islamabad-Beijing schedule

Under the renewed timetable, the national carrier plans to operate the Islamabad-Beijing sector once a week, every Friday. Officials present that frequency as a steady, predictable path for passengers who need a direct capital-to-capital journey rather than a multi-stop itinerary.

PIA has also said it intends to keep fares competitive while maintaining consistent, reliable operations on the China route. No specific ticket prices were announced with the restart.

Partnerships open wider China access

Beyond the Beijing service, the airline has deepened cooperation with three Chinese carriers—Air China, Shenzhen Airlines and Hainan Airlines—to widen its footprint inside China. Through Air China, travellers can use Beijing as a hub for onward domestic journeys. Shenzhen Airlines is expected to support connections via its Shenzhen network and other Chinese gateways, while Hainan Airlines adds options that include links through Haikou.

Taken together, those arrangements are designed to give passengers access to 26 destinations across China, not only Beijing. For travellers who once had to piece together separate tickets, the partnerships are meant to simplify onward travel inside the country.

Who the restored link is meant to serve

The restored PIA direct flights to China are framed as useful for Pakistani and Chinese students, academic communities, business travellers, investors, commercial organisations, families, expatriates and tourists moving between the two countries. Stronger air links are also described as supporting bilateral trade, tourism, investment, educational cooperation and people-to-people contact.

PIA says it will keep working with its Chinese partners and other stakeholders to strengthen its presence in the Chinese market through regular flights, competitive pricing and these airline partnerships.
