Apple is exploring ways for Apple AI agents App Store distribution to generate new services income, after Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh told the company’s latest earnings call that artificial intelligence could lift revenue in the years ahead. The company has not launched a dedicated marketplace for AI agents, and Parekh did not spell out contracts or pricing. Executives still see room to earn through third-party applications and partnerships as demand for AI tools grows.

AI agents are software that can act for users—organising information, researching topics, managing schedules or finishing tasks across apps. Under one model investors are weighing, those tools could sit inside Apple’s App Store much like other paid software. A user might download another firm’s assistant and subscribe for advanced features; Apple could take a cut of eligible purchases or subscriptions, as it already does with many paid apps.

What Apple said on the earnings call

Parekh said Apple sees AI both as a reason for customers to upgrade devices and as a path to revenue via third-party applications, partnerships and Apple’s own products. He did not describe how those commercial arrangements would work, or whether a separate AI agent store is planned. For now the idea remains a possibility discussed with investors, not a confirmed product launch.

Apple is already putting resources into Apple Intelligence and related software and device updates. Management believes those features can nudge owners of iPhones, iPads and Macs toward newer hardware that supports the latest AI capabilities. Letting outside firms supply agents would let Apple tap the wider AI market without building every assistant itself, while still controlling access through its platforms.

How App Store AI agents could work

The Apple AI agents App Store concept would extend a familiar commission model: developers publish tools, users pay for subscriptions or in-app purchases, and Apple keeps a share where rules allow. That could add subscription and transaction income if AI services keep spreading. The precise business model is still unclear, especially where regulators have limited how commissions apply.

Apple has not named partners, announced fees for agent apps, or confirmed that a specialised AI store will exist. Until those details appear, any talk of agent catalogues remains speculative, even as the company points to AI as a longer-term growth lever beyond traditional App Store categories.

Pressure on App Store commissions

Interest in fresh AI income comes as the App Store—long a pillar of Apple’s services business through fees on paid apps, subscriptions and purchases—faces tighter rules. Courts and regulators in several countries have forced payment changes. In the United States, the Epic Games case led to rules that let developers steer users toward outside payment options. Europe and other markets have imposed similar pressure, trimming Apple’s ability to collect commissions on some transactions.

Third-party estimates published in August put the fall in US App Store commission revenue at about 18%, with similar declines reported in Brazil and Japan after local rules shifted. Softer demand for mobile games has added another drag. Even so, Parekh said paid subscriptions reached an all-time high and third-party App Store subscriptions grew at a double-digit pace, while September-quarter App Store results were broadly in line with a year earlier. Apple still expects gaming weakness to linger and forecasts December-quarter services revenue growth of about 8% to 9%, including headwinds from third-party licensing and other financial factors.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Apple abhi tak koi naya AI agent store launch nahi kiya, lekin company keh rahi hai ke doosri companies ke AI tools App Store ke zariye aane se usay naya paise ka zariya mil sakta hai. Aap shayad kisi gair Apple assistant ko download karke subscription dein, aur Apple us bill se apna hissa le sakta hai. Ye abhi possibility hai, confirm product nahi. Pakistan mein iPhone users ke liye matlab yeh hai ke aage zyada AI apps aur paid plans dikh sakte hain, jabke App Store ke qawaid pehle se badal rahe hain.

They would be third-party software tools that act for users—such as organising information, researching topics, managing schedules or completing tasks—distributed through Apple’s existing App Store rather than a confirmed separate marketplace.
