In Meta AI, Meta has acquired Conductor, a young AI coding startup that lets software engineers spin up projects by sending multiple agents into parallel workspaces. The company confirmed the purchase but declined to discuss terms or other deal details.

Conductor shared the news on its blog. Founder and CEO Charlie Holtz wrote that Conductor is joining Meta and that the team has “big, crazy plans for the next interface,” with “something new” for customers expected by early next year.

What Conductor does

Founded in 2024, Conductor launched its core product last summer. Its agentic teams are meant to help engineers work on separate, compartmentalised parts of a project at the same time. Those agents are not built in-house; they come from major labs such as Anthropic and OpenAI. Users can deploy them in the cloud, on a local machine, or through a phone.

That multi-agent setup is the main product Meta is bringing in as it builds out Meta AI coding agents and related tools.

Holtz on Meta’s AI leadership

On X, Holtz said he looked forward to working with Alexandr Wang, Meta’s chief AI officer, and Nat Friedman, head of product at Superintelligence Labs (MSL), Meta’s advanced AI unit. He argued that MSL has “the highest talent density of all the labs” and that the group has been on “an absolute tear.”

Product continuity and the cloud cutoff

Holtz said that, until early next year, Conductor’s core features would keep working as before. The exception is the cloud service, which will shut down on November 20. After that date, the company will begin deleting user cloud data.

Meta has been pushing harder into AI after trailing rivals in some consumer AI services. In August it launched Muse Code, its own coding agent. Its Muse agents have drawn wide use, with the company saying the service had passed 10 million users. Over the past year Meta has also bought other AI firms, including Moltbook, a viral agent platform.

For readers following Meta AI news today, the Conductor deal is another sign Meta is buying specialised coding-agent talent rather than relying only on in-house builds.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Meta ne Conductor naam ki AI coding company kharid li hai. Ye tool engineers ko kai AI agents ek saath project par lagane deta hai. Cloud service 20 November ko band ho jayegi aur us ke baad cloud data delete hona shuru hoga. Core features early next year tak chalte rahenge, lekin cloud users ko apna data pehle save kar lena chahiye.
