Global oil prices fall by about $2 a barrel after diplomatic moves to ease US-Iran tensions and wider Middle East talks raised hopes that oil supply risks might soften.
Traders treated the outreach as a signal that a deal could reduce the chance of disruption to flows from a region that supplies a large share of the world’s crude. That shift in mood, not a confirmed settlement, drove the oil price drop reason cited in market talk: fewer immediate fears of a supply shock.
Where prices stood
Brent crude futures for December delivery stood at $109.68 a barrel. US West Texas Intermediate fell to $101.02 a barrel. Together those levels mark a clear oil prices fall from the recent high-tension tone, even as absolute prices remain elevated by everyday standards.
Diplomacy and supply worries
Efforts aimed at calming US-Iran friction, alongside Middle East talks, helped ease supply worries that had supported prices. Markets often react when governments signal room for negotiation, because even a smaller chance of blocked exports or shipping trouble can move the barrel price quickly.
That relief is still fragile. Reports of further Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia kept concerns over regional oil supplies in focus, reminding traders that security risks have not disappeared.
What Pakistanis should watch
Pakistan buys most of its crude and petroleum products from the international market, so an oil prices fall can, over time, ease pressure on the import bill if the softer tone holds. Retail pump prices and power fuel costs at home are set through separate local processes, so a one-day global move does not automatically change what households pay this week.
For now, the story is simple: peace hopes and talks pulled prices down by about $2, while Houthi-related reports stop anyone from calling the region calm.
Aasan alfaaz mein
Duniya bhar mein tel ki qeemat lagbhag 2 dollar gir gayi hai. US aur Iran ke darmiyan amn ki koshishen aur Middle East baat cheet se supply ka khauf kuch kam hua. Brent qareeb 109.68 dollar aur Amriki crude 101.02 dollar par tha. Phir bhi Saudi Arabia par Houthi hamlon ki khabrein risk ko zinda rakhti hain, is liye Pakistan mein pump rates foran badalne ki guarantee nahi.
