The Punjab government has invited applications for Punjab nursing scholarships totalling 285 postgraduate places for faculty members who teach at public-sector nursing institutions across the province. The package includes 270 Master of Science in Nursing (MScN) awards and 15 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) awards under the Punjab Nursing and Health Workforce Reform Program.
The Program Implementation Unit (PIU)—the office running the scheme under the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department—will manage selection. Officials say the aim is to raise the standard of nursing education by helping eligible teachers gain higher degrees at recognised universities in Pakistan and abroad. Scholarships will be issued on a rolling basis until the approved number of seats is filled.
What the two scholarship tracks cover
The PhD track offers 15 doctoral scholarships aimed at international education and research for nursing faculty. The MScN track offers 270 places for postgraduate nursing study through recognised universities inside Pakistan.
Together, the awards are meant to strengthen academic credentials, research skills, and teaching capacity among nursing educators. The government presents the scheme as part of broader work to improve healthcare training quality in Punjab.
Who can apply and how decisions are made
According to the official advertisement, only faculty working at public-sector nursing institutions may apply. Candidates must also meet the academic and professional requirements of the MScN or PhD programme they choose. Authorities have asked applicants to read the full eligibility rules on the programme website before submitting papers.
Teachers who have already applied for admission, received an offer, or secured a place at a recognised university may put forward their documents for scholarship consideration. Admission alone does not guarantee funding: the PIU will check each file against approved rules before a final decision.
How to submit an application
Interested faculty must send applications through the Directorate General Nursing (DG Nursing) to the PIU. The prescribed route starts with the official Punjab Nursing and Health Workforce Reform Program website, where eligibility details, partner universities, and procedures are listed.
Applicants then complete the set form and assemble supporting papers—academic credentials, university and programme details, and relevant admission documents. Those who already hold an offer must attach the offer or admission letter. Complete files must reach the PIU via the DG Nursing office for verification; the government has told candidates not to bypass that channel by sending papers straight to the PIU on their own.
