Pakistani and other international graduates can seek three research-backed seats at Auburn University in Alabama for advanced study of freshwater life and toxic algae blooms. The posts sit in Alan Wilson’s group and combine a full fee waiver with a 12-month living stipend: $35,000 a year for doctoral candidates and $30,000 for master’s candidates.
Highly competitive doctoral hopefuls may also be put forward for university presidential research awards that pay at least $50,000 a year for as long as three years. Those awards run through a distinct contest, so the larger package is not automatic.
What the posts cover
Work centres on lakes and rivers, plankton, and the conditions that trigger harmful algae. Projects draw backing from US public bodies including the USDA Agricultural Research Service, USDA-NIFA (the National Institute of Food and Agriculture), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)—the US environmental regulator. Day-to-day tasks can include outdoor trials, routine ecological checks, bench tests, modelling of whole systems, and handling research data.
The lab leans toward doctoral recruits but still reviews master’s applicants. Motivation, integrity, teamwork and a clear interest in inland waters matter most. Prior classes in ecology, limnology (lake science) and statistics, plus research or mentoring experience, help but are described as useful rather than compulsory.
Who should apply and by when
A secondary scholarship write-up cites a 3.0 grade-point floor and English thresholds of IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 79 or Duolingo 115. The lab’s own advert does not lock in those figures, so candidates must confirm Auburn’s graduate entry rules before they apply. Preferred academic paths include ecology, environmental science, inland-water study and quantitative work.
Required materials are a CV, academic transcripts and contacts for three referees. GRE results may be attached if already held; they are not mandatory. Submissions go through the online form linked from the official assistantship notice. Preferred start timing can be agreed with the lab after selection. The stated cut-off is 14 July 2027. Questions may be sent to Alan Wilson at the address given in that notice, and further lab detail sits on the Wilson Lab site.
Aasan alfaaz mein
America ke Auburn University mein teen research seats khuli hain jo master’s aur PhD ke liye fees maaf karti hain. PhD par saalana roughly $35,000 aur master’s par $30,000 mil sakta hai. Jo students freshwater ecology aur toxic algae pe kaam karna chahte hain, woh 14 July 2027 se pehle apply kar sakte hain. Behtar PhD candidates alag competition se $50,000 tak ki fellowship bhi try kar sakte hain, magar yeh guaranteed nahi.
