Lahore air quality index today live data from the global monitor IQAir show the city at the top of the world's most polluted urban centres, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) — a common scale for how dirty outdoor air is — of 509. New Delhi stands second at 221 and Cairo third at 210. The Lahore figure sits far above the levels usually treated as safe for prolonged time outdoors.

How Lahore compares with Delhi and Cairo

On IQAir's list of the most polluted cities, Lahore ranks first. India's capital follows at less than half Lahore's reading, and Egypt's capital is close behind Delhi. That gap underlines how severe the Lahore air pollution level is against other large cities tracked on the same global board.

Punjab's other towns are not spared. Separate readings from the Punjab Air Quality Index show the provincial picture is also bleak, even where the city ranking order differs from the worldwide list.

Punjab cities deep in hazardous range

According to the Punjab Air Quality Index, Gujranwala became the province's most polluted city at 500, with Nankana Sahib also at 500. Lahore was third on that provincial board at 449, followed by Hafizabad at 386 and Wazirabad at 381.

The Lahore air quality index today on IQAir (509) and the Punjab index figure for the same city (449) come from different monitoring systems, so they are not identical. Both still point to air that is extremely unhealthy for ordinary outdoor activity.

Neighbourhoods logging AQI 500

Within Lahore, several areas recorded an AQI of 500. Those spots include Barki Road, Shahdara, Kahna Nau, Multan Road, DHA Phase 6, Punjab University, Safari Park, GT Road and Gulberg III. Readings at that height leave little room for long walks, outdoor play or roadside work without added risk.

Health concern has risen for residents across the city. Children, older adults and people who already have respiratory illness face the greatest danger when smog sits this thick.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Lahore ki hawa bohot zyada gandi ho gayi hai. IQAir ke mutabiq shehar ka AQI 509 hai, jo is waqt duniya mein sab se oopar hai. Delhi 221 aur Cairo 210 par hain. Bachon, budhon aur saans ke marizon ko bahar kam nikalna aur mask ka khayal rakhna chahiye.
