Charsadda flyover at 25% as Peshawar Northern Bypass advances

The Peshawar Northern Bypass project is scheduled to be finished by January 31, 2027, the National Highway Authority (NHA) — Pakistan’s federal roads agency — has indicated, as it reports faster construction across packages that remain at uneven stages of work.

Official project figures show Package-I already finished in full. Elsewhere, Package-II is 79% complete, Package-III-A is at 82%, and Package-III-B is at 75%. The Charsadda Road Flyover, a related stretch named in the same update, is further behind at 25%.

Progress across packages

The NHA says construction has been accelerated, with different sections moving at different speeds rather than as a single block of work. Package-I’s full completion means one major slice of the corridor is already off the site list, while the mid-to-high seventies and eighties on Packages II, III-A, and III-B point to substantial but unfinished civil works.

The Charsadda Road Flyover’s 25% mark is the clearest lag among the figures released. That gap helps explain why a firm end date in early 2027 still leaves more than a year of work on the slower parts of the scheme.

What the January 2027 date means

Setting January 31, 2027 as the completion target gives contractors, transporters, and residents a public clock for when the full Peshawar Northern Bypass project is meant to open as a finished route. The NHA has not, in the available detail, listed remaining milestones month by month, only the package-wise percentages and the overall deadline.

For drivers who now skirt Peshawar through congested city approaches, the practical test will be whether the lagging flyover and unfinished packages catch up in time for that date. Until then, traffic patterns around the northern side of the city are likely to keep shifting with each package that reaches substantial completion.

Timeline: what has happened so far

  • Package-I: Construction fully completed, according to NHA project details.
  • Package-II: Work reported at 79% complete.
  • Package-III-A: Work reported at 82% complete.
  • Package-III-B: Work reported at 75% complete.
  • Charsadda Road Flyover: Work reported at 25% complete.
  • Overall schedule: Project completion set for January 31, 2027.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Peshawar Northern Bypass ka kaam 31 January 2027 tak khatam hone ka schedule hai. NHA ke mutabiq Package-I poora ho chuka hai, lekin doosre packages abhi chal rahe hain. Charsadda Road Flyover abhi sirf 25% ready hai. Jab poora project khulega, shehar ke shumali taraf traffic ke liye naya rasta milne ki umeed hai.
