The federal government has imposed a temporary six-month ban on establishing new nursing and midwifery institutions, according to sources. The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC), which handles inspection applications for prospective institutions, has issued formal notifications on the ban to both federal and provincial governments.

Why the pause is being imposed

Sources said the temporary restriction is intended to give the council time to clear a backlog of pending cases. During the six-month period, the PNMC will not accept or process any new inspection applications for prospective institutions. The restriction applies to establishing new institutions, which is the core of the decision.

What continues and what happens next

The council will keep processing applications that were submitted before the ban took effect, sources added. New applications will be entertained only after the competent authority gives approval following the end of the six-month period. The details come from sources and have not been confirmed in an official public statement.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Federal government ne nursing aur midwifery ke naye institutions kholne par chhe mahine ki arzi pabandi laga di hai. PNMC pehle se jama shuda applications par kaam jaari rakhega, lekin chhe mahine tak nayi inspection applications qabool nahi hongi. Yeh un logon ke liye ahem hai jo naya nursing ya midwifery ka idara kholna chahte hain. Abhi tak yeh khabar sources ke hawalay se hai, sarkari bayan ki tasdeeq baqi hai.
