A Multan rape case has been registered with police after a woman said she was raped by one of three armed men who stopped her family while they were making their way home at night. The three men have not yet been identified. The complaint was made by the woman's husband, and the alleged assault is said to have taken place late the previous night.
What the husband told police
According to the husband, the family had set out that evening for a birthday event held for his cousin's son. Near Wan Chhatta, at around 11pm, three men on a motorcycle without a number plate blocked their way. He said one of the men aimed a weapon at his wife while another kept the couple's two young children at gunpoint.
The woman was then taken away from the road to a wooded spot, where he said she was raped. He added that nearby residents came to the scene after he called out for help, and the attackers fled.
Police response and forensic tests
Akhtar Farooq, a police officer in Multan city, confirmed that the incident happened the previous night. He said the woman had been examined by a doctor and that samples had been dispatched to a forensic lab in Lahore.
What happens next
The Multan rape case is at an early stage, and the three suspects remain unidentified. Results from the Lahore lab have not been reported, so the medical and forensic findings are not yet known. No arrests or further official statements have been reported so far.
