Samsung has launched the Samsung W27 in China, a luxury foldable phone built on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra platform with a more ornate design. The device pairs an 8.0-inch foldable inner screen with a 6.5-inch cover display, a 200MP main camera and prices from about $2,850. Pre-orders and reservations opened on 29 October 2026, with official sales set for 13 November 2026 through Samsung’s official online store in China.
Design, displays and collector package
The Samsung W27 uses a dual-tone look in Jixia Red and Jihu Blue, both tied to cultural meaning in China, with gold accents on the frame, hinge, rear camera module and lens rings. The rear panel carries Samsung’s gold “Heart to the World” logo, linked to its premium W-series phones in China. Front and rear panels are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3.
Both screens are Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz and peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Unfolded thickness is 4.1mm; folded it is 8.9mm, and the phone weighs 215g. A special collector’s box includes a 45W charger, a Kevlar protective case, a charging cable and other usual accessories.
Specs, cameras, battery and China pricing
Hardware largely matches the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. The chipset is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy (3nm), with an octa-core CPU up to 4.74GHz and an Adreno 840 GPU. Both storage options ship with 16GB of RAM: 512GB or 1TB, with no microSD slot. Software is Android 17 with One UI 9.
Samsung added satellite connectivity for calls and messages over China’s Tiantong network when regular mobile coverage is unavailable. Other links include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and USB-C. The rear triple camera is led by a 200MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, plus a 50MP ultrawide and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom; video can reach 8K at 30fps. Two 10MP selfie cameras sit on the cover and inner displays. The side fingerprint sensor unlocks the phone.
The 5,000mAh battery supports 45W wired fast charging and 20W wireless charging. In China the 16GB/512GB model costs CNY 18,999 (about $2,850) and the 16GB/1TB model CNY 21,999 (about $3,300)—a difference of roughly $450 for the larger storage.
