US renews Saudi Arabia security alert amid Iran tensions

The United States has issued a fresh Saudi Arabia security alert, directing non-emergency government employees and their families to leave the kingdom over security concerns. The US Embassy in Riyadh also placed new limits on how official staff may move inside Saudi Arabia, according to the embassy’s public notice.

The renewal of the Saudi Arabia security alert coincides with a sharp rise in US-Iran confrontation. On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump confirmed that American forces had carried out attacks on Iran, describing the action as a “limited attack.” He said Iran had completed an anti-aircraft installation and that US forces had successfully struck it the previous night.

What the US Embassy told staff

In its renewed Saudi Arabia security alert, the embassy ordered non-emergency personnel and their families to depart the country as a precaution. It also imposed restrictions on travel and movement by official employees within Saudi Arabia. The guidance was shared on the social platform X.

Those instructions apply to US government staff covered by the embassy’s orders. The public notice did not spell out separate advice for private citizens or for Pakistani workers in the kingdom.

Iran strike and official safety broadcasts

The alert comes after reports of a US strike on Iran’s Qeshm island in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday night. Trump had earlier threatened further action against multiple targets, including Mount Kolang. American media also circulated unverified claims that Israel’s prime minister had pressed Washington for another round of attacks on Iran; that pressure claim has not been independently confirmed in official statements available here.

In Iran, state media broadcast guidance on how civilians should respond to a nuclear attack or radiation hazard. Iranian state news agency IRNA reported that Ibrahim Adelzadeh of the Isfahan Red Crescent advised people, in a nuclear accident or radiation risk, to stay indoors, shut doors and windows, and stop systems that pull in outside air. He said basements or interior rooms away from windows were safer shelters, urged people to stay low during a possible blast, and warned against looking directly at the flash. Anyone exposed to radioactive dust, he said, should carefully remove outer clothing and seal it in a bag.

Timeline: what has happened so far

  • Monday night, early November 2026: US forces strike Iran’s Qeshm island in the Strait of Hormuz, according to emerging reports later confirmed by Trump.
  • Before the Qeshm strike: Trump threatens action against several Iranian targets, including Mount Kolang.
  • Tuesday, 3 November 2026: Trump tells Fox News by phone that the United States attacked Iran, calling the strike “limited” and saying an anti-aircraft site was hit once completed.
  • Same period: Iranian state television and officials circulate nuclear-attack and radiation-protection instructions for civilians.
  • Same period: The US Embassy in Riyadh reissues a Saudi Arabia security alert and orders non-emergency staff and families to leave, with internal movement curbs for officials.

What comes next

Further US or Iranian military moves would keep Gulf security under pressure. For now, the confirmed steps are the embassy’s departure and travel orders for non-emergency US staff, Trump’s acknowledgment of a limited strike, and Iran’s public civil-defence messaging on radiation.

Aasan alfaaz mein

America ne Saudi Arabia mein dobara security alert jaari kiya hai. Ghair zaroori US mulazimeen aur un ke ghar walon ko mulk chhorne ko kaha gaya hai. Yeh faisla Iran par limited hamle aur badhti tanao ke dauran aaya hai. Pakistanion ke liye seedha matlab yeh hai ke Khaleej ki soorat-e-haal ghour se dekhni hogi, khas tor par petrol aur Gulf jobs ke liye.
