Karachi atta price today is the highest in Pakistan, with a 20-kilogram bag of flour costing up to Rs3,540, according to the latest Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) city survey. Residents of the port city are paying more for atta than buyers in any other centre covered in the data.
How Karachi compares with other cities
PBS recorded a 20kg bag at Rs3,400 in Hyderabad, Rs3,333.33 in Islamabad and Rs3,306.66 in Rawalpindi. In Larkana and Peshawar the price stood at Rs3,300, while Bannu, Quetta and Khuzdar were listed at up to Rs3,200.
A 20kg bag was available for Rs3,160 in Sukkur and Rs3,133.33 in Lahore. In Sialkot the price stood at Rs3,133. Gujranwala and Faisalabad were recorded at Rs3,000, and Bahawalpur at Rs2,946.66.
Lowest and mid-range city rates
According to the Bureau of Statistics, Multan was at Rs2,933.33 per 20kg bag. Sargodha reported Rs2,933 — the lowest among the surveyed cities. Between those floors and Karachi’s peak, mid-sized markets such as Sukkur, Lahore and Sialkot sit in a narrower band just above Rs3,100.
Karachi atta price today therefore sits clearly above every other listed city for the same 20kg pack size. Shoppers comparing markets will find the gap most visible against Punjab cities at the bottom of the table, where the same bag is priced well under Rs3,000 in Sargodha and Multan.
What the PBS survey shows
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics compiles retail flour prices across major cities. The latest reading places Karachi at the top of that list for a 20-kilogram bag. Karachi wheat flour prices at this level matter because atta is a daily kitchen staple, bought for roti and other household meals rather than as an occasional item.
Families who purchase the large bag for weekly or monthly use will feel the city’s position as the costliest surveyed market when they pay at the store. The comparison in the survey is for the 20kg bag across cities, which is the unit PBS used in these figures.
