Pakistan's women's cricket team will take part in the ICC Women's Emerging Nations Trophy, which is due to be played in Bangkok, Thailand, between November 12 and 26. The tournament brings together emerging women's sides, giving them a chance to gain international experience and sharpen their competitiveness. The squad for the event has not yet been named.
How the squad will be picked
Selection will depend on how players perform in the National Women's T20 Tournament, which is being held in Faisalabad. The domestic final is set for October 25, and selectors will review those performances before they finalise the squad. For players, the domestic event is a chance to show their skills and press for a place in the national side ahead of the trip to Thailand.
Groups and format
The Emerging Nations Trophy features ten teams split into two groups of five. A Super Six stage follows, and it decides which teams advance further in the competition. Pakistan are in Group B with Bangladesh, Thailand, the Netherlands and Zimbabwe. Group A consists of Ireland, Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea, Scotland and the United Arab Emirates. Five of the ten participating teams are ICC Associate Members.
Pakistan will be looking for a strong start against its Group B opponents when the tournament begins in Bangkok next month.
