Arrests in Islamabad Zone
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Pakistan’s federal crime-investigation body, has arrested two agents in an FIA Albania work visa fraud case involving Rs1.5 million, an FIA official said on Wednesday. The Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Rawalpindi, working under FIA Islamabad Zone, carried out the operation after a citizen alleged he was cheated on the promise of an Albanian work visa.
The suspects named by the official are Ghulam Dastgir and Shahid Hussain. They are linked to FIR No. 647/2026. According to the official, the pair allegedly received Rs1.5 million from the complainant after promising to send him abroad on a work visa for Albania.
What investigators are checking
The official said investigators are examining the alleged fraud. The role of any other individuals connected to the case will also be determined as the inquiry continues. Inspector Zainab Batool is looking into the matter.
FIA Islamabad Zone, the official added, remains set on prosecuting people who engage in human trafficking, visa fraud, and related crimes. The FIA Albania work visa fraud inquiry is still under way, and further steps will depend on what the investigation establishes.
What the allegation covers
At the centre of this FIA Albania work visa fraud matter is a simple claim: money was taken for arranging overseas work papers that the complainant says were not delivered as promised. A work visa is official permission to take a job in another country; here, the promised destination was Albania. The Rs1.5 million figure is the amount the agency says the complainant paid the two agents.
