The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), the utility that supplies electricity in Islamabad and adjoining districts, on Sunday issued an IESCO power suspension schedule for Tuesday on limited feeders. An IESCO spokesperson said the cuts are needed because the district administration is carrying out ongoing development works.

IESCO said the sole purpose of the shutdowns is to help finish those projects on time. The works mentioned include construction of flyovers and underpasses and the installation of new 11-kilovolt (11kV) feeders, which are local high-voltage lines that serve neighbourhoods.

Islamabad and Rawalpindi timings

In Islamabad Circle, electricity will remain suspended from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on listed feeders such as Banigala, G-6, Sports Complex, F-7/1, G-8 and G-8 Markaz, I-8/2, I-10/2, Faisal Masjid, Saidpur, Shah Allah Ditta and other named areas.

In Rawalpindi City Circle, supply on Al-Noor Colony, Qadeer Road and KRL feeders will be off from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A longer list of city feeders—including 6th Road, Liaqat Bagh, Jinnah Road, Industrial, Shakrial and Mohan Pura—will face suspension from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. In Rawalpindi Cantt Circle, power will remain suspended from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on feeders including Morgah, Bank Road, Tipu Road, Askari-14, New GHQ, Humak, Japan Road, Kahuta City and Adyala, among others named by IESCO.

Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal and GSO

In Attock Circle, Khan Abad Feeder is listed from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, while other feeders such as Faisal Hills-1 and Faisal Hills-2, Wapda Town, Fatehjang City-II, Jand-1 and Gulshan-e-Sehat (E-18) are scheduled from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Jhelum Circle feeders, including CMH Jhelum, Dina areas, Sohawa Katchery and several industrial and mill feeders, are listed from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. In Chakwal Circle, most named feeders face the same 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM window, while PAF and Istaqlal Camp feeders are listed only from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. In GSO Circles, supply will remain suspended from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on feeders including Dheer Kot, Chaman Kot, Dana Express, Dahla and Chattar Class-1 and Class-2.

What consumers should expect

This IESCO power suspension schedule covers limited feeders, not every consumer in each circle. Households and shops on the named lines should plan for multi-hour daytime outages on Tuesday, with the longest listed stretch in GSO Circles. IESCO management apologised to consumers for the temporary interruption in electricity supply.

Aasan alfaaz mein

IESCO ne mangal ke din kuch selected feeders par bijli band karne ka schedule jaari kiya hai. Yeh bandish district ke development kaam—jaise flyover aur underpass—ke liye hai. Islamabad aur bohat se ilaqon mein roughly subah 9 se dopahar 2 tak bijli nahi hogi; kuch Rawalpindi aur Attock feeders 7 baje se shuru hain. Agar aapka area list mein hai to charging, office kaam aur dukanen pehle se plan kar lein.

IESCO issued the programme on Sunday for Tuesday, not for the day of the announcement. Tuesday cuts are limited to named feeders for development works.
