The Pakistan embassy in Tehran has firmly dismissed circulating reports that Ambassador Imran Ahmed Siddiqui was attacked in the Iranian capital, calling the claims baseless and factually incorrect.

In a statement shared on X, the Pakistan embassy in Tehran said it had taken note of reports about the ambassador on social media and other forums. It stated that those accounts do not reflect what happened and should not be treated as fact.

“The embassy categorically clarifies that these reports are baseless and factually incorrect,” the mission said.

What the rejected reports claimed

Before the embassy responded, posts and other online material had alleged that Siddiqui was attacked in Tehran. According to those unverified accounts, he had been invited to a gathering when several people allegedly assaulted him.

The embassy did not describe any incident matching that story. Its message was limited to rejecting the circulating claims and labelling them factually wrong.

Why the denial matters now

Pakistan has been active in diplomatic efforts involving Iran and the United States during the conflict that began on 28 February this year. Mediation work earlier produced an interim arrangement known as the Islamabad MoU in June, though that arrangement later broke down. Qatar has also worked alongside Pakistan on efforts to end the fighting, which has disrupted global shipping and oil supplies and has recently spread to Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

Against that backdrop, false claims about a senior Pakistani envoy in Tehran can quickly raise public alarm. The embassy’s clarification is aimed at stopping those rumours from being treated as confirmed news.

What is known — and what is not

Official confirmation from the Pakistan embassy in Tehran covers only one point: the attack reports circulating about Ambassador Imran Ahmed Siddiqui are, in its words, baseless and factually incorrect. The mission has not announced any injury, security breach, or related investigation in the material available on this episode.

Readers should treat further social media versions of the same claim with caution unless Pakistani or Iranian authorities issue a new, detailed update.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Pakistan ke Tehran wale embassy ne kaha hai ke Ambassador Imran Ahmed Siddiqui par hamle ki social media reports galat hain. Unke mutabiq yeh baatein bebunyaad aur haqeeqat ke khilaaf hain. Pehle online yeh claim chala tha ke unhein Tehran mein kisi gathering mein bulaya gaya aur kuch logon ne hamla kiya. Ab embassy ke bayan ke baad is afwah ko khabar samajhna theek nahi.
