The Islamabad High Court has fixed November 5 for an Imran Khan jail meeting petition filed by National Dialogue Committee members who want formal leave to see the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder inside Adiala Jail.

Justice Umair Majid Malik is to examine the case together with objections recorded by the court’s registrar wing. The listing came on Monday, according to the official wire account dated 2 November from Islamabad.

Who brought the case

Senior advocate Faisal Fareed Chaudhry moved the application for ex-federal minister Fawad Chaudhry, former Sindh governor Imran Ismail, Mahmood Maulvi and Barrister Saif. The interior secretary, Punjab’s home secretary and Adiala’s jail superintendent are named as respondents.

The applicants present themselves as friends of the PTI founder. Their filing stresses unease about his condition and about how prison staff have allegedly treated him.

Why they say visits matter

The plea links the Imran Khan jail meeting dispute to months without access for family, friends and close relatives. Petitioners argue that prolonged silence has fed online rumour and wider public worry, including over the reported condition of Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi.

They frame the application as serving political calm, respect for the Constitution and national reconciliation. On law, they point to Articles 9 and 14 of Pakistan’s Constitution, domestic prison statutes, the United Nations Nelson Mandela Rules on prisoner treatment, and the Pakistan Prison Rules of 1978, which govern interviews behind bars.

What the court is asked to do

The applicants want a direction to the Adiala superintendent to host a National Dialogue Committee team with Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi at a set time, so the visitors can judge health, welfare and legal protection. Whether that order is granted will turn on the November 5 hearing and how the bench treats the registrar’s objections.

No ruling on the visit itself has been announced yet. The next concrete step is the listed date before Justice Umair Majid Malik.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Islamabad High Court ne 5 November ko Imran Khan se Adiala Jail mein milne ki darkhwast sunni hai. National Dialogue Committee ke kuch log unki sehat aur jail access ko le kar pareshan hain. Ab judge yeh dekhega ke mulaqaat ki ijazat milni chahiye ya nahi. Aam logon ke liye abhi koi naya faisla nahi aaya; agla clear step yahi hearing hai.
