Federal Planning Minister Professor Ahsan Iqbal on Monday set out an Ahsan Iqbal CPC proposal for five political corridors connecting China's Communist Party with parties across Pakistan. Speaking in Islamabad at a symposium on Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, he said the aim was firmer institutional contact and steadier development planning that does not collapse whenever administrations change.
What the corridors would cover
He framed the Ahsan Iqbal CPC proposal as a political counterpart to five economic tracks linked with URAAN Pakistan and the next phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the major bilateral infrastructure and energy partnership. Themes would include strategic talks; shared learning on governance and growth; training for younger leaders; cultural contact; and cooperation on regional peace. Youth engagement was a clear priority: reciprocal visits between rising CPC figures and Pakistani party activists, with structured study at China's Central Party School that could open with a first batch in 2027.
Pakistan, he argued, can take useful cues from China's growth path—public service, organisational discipline, self-correction, capable administration, and planning that looks beyond a single term. He said the country has repeatedly paid for dropping workable development courses after elections, and that national plans must outlast those cycles. Within Pakistan's democratic system, he added, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz remains committed to those habits.
CPEC record and enduring ties
Recalling CPEC's start under former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Iqbal said the opening phase turned an early understanding into nearly 25 billion dollars of investment. He said those schemes fed over 8,000 megawatts into the power system, laid 888 kilometres of highway and motorway links, and supported roughly 236,000 jobs, direct and indirect.
On Pakistan China political ties, he repeated that friendship between the two states sits above partisan divides and changes of government, with wide public backing on both sides. Congratulating Chinese President Xi Jinping and the CPC after the fifth plenary meeting of the 20th Central Committee, he said seventy-five years of formal diplomatic ties offer a chance to deepen political and institutional contact. Leadership, he argued, should be judged not only by wins in office but by the institutions, policies and foundations left for later generations.
Aasan alfaaz mein
Planning wazir Ahsan Iqbal ne kaha hai ke Chin ki Communist Party aur Pakistan ki siyasi jamaton ke darmiyan paanch siyasi corridors banain. In ka maqsad yeh hai ke development ki policy sarkar badalne se toot na jaye, aur jawanon ke exchanges 2027 se shuru ho saken. Pehle CPEC phase ki jo bijli, sarakain aur jobs unhon ne batain, unhein woh isi taaluqat ki misaal kehte hain. Aam shehri ke liye seedha matlab yeh hai ke agar yeh rasta chala to parties ke darmiyan learning aur youth programmes zyada structured ho sakte hain.
