Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced Maryam Nawaz jobs for women from rural areas who complete skills training under the SheThreads programme, with placements linked to the textile industry.
In a statement, she said 1,150 women have already finished the training and secured work under the programme. A target has been set to train 2,500 women by June. Registration for SheThreads has already begun.
What SheThreads offers trainees
Participants will take a three-month course covering industrial sewing and apparel supervision. During training, each participant will receive a monthly stipend of Rs15,000.
That support works out to Rs45,000 over the full three months (Rs15,000 × 3), paid while women learn factory-floor sewing and supervision skills. The chief minister said that after they successfully complete the course, they will be offered employment opportunities in the textile industry.
Who the scheme is for
The announcement centres on rural women in Punjab who want formal skills and then paid work in apparel manufacturing. Maryam Nawaz jobs for women under SheThreads are framed as a path from training into factory jobs rather than unpaid household work alone.
The programme is already past the pilot stage in practical terms: more than a thousand women are described as trained and employed, while enrolment remains open toward the larger June target.
What officials say comes next
With registration open, more rural applicants can join the current intake cycle. The stated aim is to reach 2,500 trained women by June, which would add roughly 1,350 places beyond the 1,150 already counted as trained and employed (2,500 − 1,150).
Officials have tied successful completion of the course to textile-sector job offers. How individual factories hire, and in which districts placements are concentrated, was not detailed in the available statements.
