Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana has ordered a Lahore crime crackdown focused on theft, burglary and pickpocketing, saying the drive is meant to curb crime and protect citizens’ lives and property.
What the CCPO directed
Chairing a meeting to review the overall crime situation, preventive steps and Lahore Police performance, the CCPO told divisional superintendents of police (SPs) to personally lead raids to arrest criminal elements. He instructed the SSP (Operations) and the SSP (Investigation) to supervise those operations.
Bilal Siddique Kamyana also directed officers to tighten the net around proclaimed offenders wanted in theft, burglary and other cases. He stressed that Category-B proclaimed offenders must be arrested without delay, and made clear that negligence or laxity against criminal elements would not be tolerated.
Hotspots, decoys and gambling networks
As part of the Lahore crime crackdown, the CCPO ordered police to identify theft hotspots and run special decoy operations there so suspects can be caught red-handed and brought to justice. He further directed indiscriminate action against organised gambling networks and people involved in gambling, calling for an effective strategy to curb such activity.
The instructions place front-line responsibility on divisional SPs for raids, with city-level operations and investigation supervisors expected to stay on top of every such drive.

The meeting was attended by DIG (Administration) Imran Kishwar, DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Raza, DIG (Operations) Faisal Kamran, SSP (Investigation) Muhammad Naveed, SSP (Operations) Abdullah Ahmad and the divisional SPs.

Lahore police ke CCPO ne chori, ghar tor kar chori aur pocket marne walon ke khilaf sakht action ka hukum diya hai. Division ke SP khud raids lead karenge aur senior officers unki nigrani karenge. Wanted Category-B offenders ko jaldi pakadne aur chori ke hotspots par decoy operations chalane ka order hai. Shehar ke logon ki jaan o maal ki hifazat ke liye yeh qadam uthaya gaya hai.
