Intensive mediation push in Tehran

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Tehran talks with mediators are under way as Iran seeks a path to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and resume negotiations with the United States. He described the consultations as intensive and said they are being conducted through mediators, including Qatar and Pakistan.

The remarks place diplomacy, rather than unilateral steps, at the centre of Tehran's stated approach for now. Araghchi framed the effort as work toward a potential agreement covering both the strategic waterway and a return to talks with Washington.

What Araghchi said about US conditions

In an interview, Araghchi tied any reopening of the strait to American acceptance of Iran's terms. "If the US accepts our conditions, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened and negotiations will be resumed," he said.

He did not list those conditions in the comments available from the interview. The sequence he described is clear on one point: according to him, both the waterway's reopening and a restart of US talks depend on that acceptance.

Pakistan among the named mediators

Araghchi's reference to Pakistan, alongside Qatar, means Islamabad is publicly identified as part of the mediation channel around these Tehran talks with mediators. He did not describe Pakistan's day-to-day role, only that such consultations are under way through those mediators.

For readers in Pakistan, that naming matters because any settlement affecting the Strait of Hormuz touches a passage critical to global oil shipping, which in turn shapes fuel costs and import planning across the region. What comes next, on Araghchi's own account, hinges on whether the United States engages with the conditions Iran has set.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Iran ke wazir-e-kharja Abbas Araghchi ne kaha hai ke Tehran mediators ke saath gehre mazakrat kar raha hai, jin mein Qatar aur Pakistan bhi shamil hain. Inka maqsad Hormuz ki paani ki raah dobara khulwana aur America se baat cheet shuru karna hai. Unhone kaha ke agar America Iran ki shartein man le to Hormuz khul sakta hai aur mazakrat wapas shuru ho sakte hain. Pakistan ka naam is mediation mein aaya hai, is liye ye masla humare liye bhi ahm hai.
