Meta has released the Style Sketch app, an AI fashion tool that helps people build outfit ideas from clothes they already own. In plain terms, it digitises a wardrobe—often from Instagram photos you have already posted—then suggests combinations and lets you preview them on a virtual model.
Social media consultant Matt Navarra first flagged the launch on 28 October 2026. According to the app’s description and his summary, Style Sketch links to Instagram (he also mentioned Facebook) so posted pictures can seed a closet. Users who prefer not to rely on old posts can add pieces by taking a photo, recording a short video, or uploading images from their camera roll.
How the wardrobe and outfit ideas work
Once items are in the closet, the Style Sketch app proposes combinations meant to fit the user’s style rather than random pairings. Someone can also pick one garment and ask for fresh looks built around that piece. The description says users can try outfits on a “realistic model matched to your body shape and skin tone,” so the preview is meant to feel closer to the wearer’s own proportions and complexion than a generic mannequin.
Navarra’s summary of the product also points to weather-based looks: suggestions that take forecast conditions into account when shaping what to wear.
Trip packing and day-by-day plans
Beyond daily dressing, the app can help with travel packing. If a user enters a destination, how long the trip lasts and what activities are planned, Style Sketch can return a day-by-day outfit plan that factors in the weather forecast and the itinerary. That is aimed at people who want a packing list tied to real plans, not a single static wardrobe dump.
Where it is available—and how Meta is shipping AI apps
For now, Style Sketch is available in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand on both iOS and Android. Meta has not said whether it will open the app in more countries. It sits in a recent run of Meta AI experiments, including Waddle World, Pocket and Vibes, after Meta’s chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, told staff the company intends to ship far more apps than before as AI tools speed up development.
Other products already turn clothing photos into digital closets and outfit boards—Google Photos among them—so Meta’s edge is less the basic idea than tying the closet to Instagram, where many people already keep a visual record of what they wear.
