Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal has agreed in principle to award the Bait-ul-Mal scholarship to 50 deserving students enrolled at FATA University. The move aims to assist youth from underprivileged backgrounds in meeting their tuition and educational expenses without financial disruption.

The consensus was reached during an official visit by Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Director Dr. Lal Badshah to the university campus, where he met with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohsin Nawaz. Both institutions plan to sign a formal memorandum of understanding (MoU) shortly to finalise the operational framework and disburse the funds.

Strengthening financial aid in tribal districts

Administrative officers from both organisations, alongside Agriculture University Peshawar Director Sports Muhammad Bilal Marwat, participated in the deliberations. The discussion focused on resolving financial bottlenecks that hinder students in the merged tribal districts from completing their degrees.

Officials noted that targeted financial support helps retain students who might otherwise discontinue their studies due to mounting educational costs. The initiative is part of wider efforts to promote higher education in regions recovering from infrastructural and economic challenges.

University leadership welcomes initiative

Speaking during the session, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohsin Nawaz emphasised that financial hardship should never prevent a deserving student from obtaining a university degree. He stated that the administration remains dedicated to delivering quality instruction, upgrading campus infrastructure, and resolving student welfare issues.

He welcomed the partnership with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, expressing confidence that the financial assistance will allow beneficiaries to concentrate fully on their studies and complete their academic terms without undue strain.
