A group of 107 agricultural graduates from Sindh has left for China to take part in a specialised three-month training programme under the Prime Minister's Initiative, Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) said on Sunday. A spokesman for the university said the graduates were chosen from the province's allocated quota and that the full quota was used.
The initiative gives successful candidates a chance to train abroad with advanced knowledge and modern agricultural methods. Under the scheme, Sindh receives a set number of places, and the university said its coordinated work made sure those places were filled by eligible graduates.
How the candidates were chosen
Before the final selection, the university organised preparatory training for applicants and ran the assessment process, the spokesman said. Prof Dr Abdul Mubeen Lodhi led the university's work on the preparatory arrangements and the assessment. The spokesman described the outcome as a collective success for the SAU community.
What the university said
Vice Chancellor Engr Prof Dr Altaf Ali Siyal called the participation a matter of pride for Sindh and Pakistan. He said he expected the graduates to gain advanced knowledge, modern farming technologies and practical experience in China, and to apply what they learn to the development of Pakistan's agriculture sector. He said it was "a proud moment" for the university and the wider farming community.
