Security forces killed three terrorists and surrounded seven others in Gwadar during ongoing operations, security sources said on Thursday. The operation began after forces responded to an attempted attack on a construction company's empty camp and stopped the militants from reaching their target.
The attack on the construction camp
According to the security sources, the attackers belonged to Fitna al Hindustan, the label used in the sources for the group. Forces moved quickly to thwart the attempt on the vacant camp. Three terrorists were killed during that operation, and security forces surrounded three more at the same location.
Operation at a hotel near the highway
A separate operation was under way against militants inside a hotel located near the Gwadar highway, following another attempted attack. Four terrorists at the hotel had been surrounded by security forces, the sources said. Together with the three surrounded near the camp, seven militants remain encircled in the ongoing operations.
Command and what comes next
The Gwadar General Officer Commanding, the senior army commander in the area, is personally leading the operation, the sources said. The figures come from unnamed security sources rather than a formal statement, and the outcome for the seven people still surrounded is not yet known. Further updates are expected as the operations continue.
