Online applications for MBBS admission 2026-27 across private medical colleges in Punjab opened on October 23. The University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, which administers admissions centrally under the provincial government's policy, has set November 6 as the closing date for candidate submissions.
The process covers approximately 4,500 MBBS seats across 34 private medical colleges in the province. Students from all provinces across Pakistan as well as overseas applicants can participate, provided they satisfy the baseline criteria. UHS plans to release the first MBBS selection list on November 18, after which successful candidates will receive three days to deposit college dues and secure their seats.
Eligibility criteria and merit calculation
Admissions follow a strict formula based on previous academic performance and standardized testing. Merit relies on three components: Matriculation or equivalent results contribute 10%, intermediate FSc pre-medical marks account for 40%, and the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) represents 50% of the total score.
To qualify for private medical colleges admission 2026, students must hold at least 60% marks in their FSc pre-medical or equivalent qualification. In addition, prospective medical students must achieve a minimum score of 55% in the MDCAT. Candidates targeting dental institutions require at least 50% in the MDCAT.
Dental admissions and application procedure
The admission cycle for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) seats will follow a separate timeline. Applications for roughly 1,100 BDS seats across 18 private dental colleges will open on December 18 and close on January 1, 2027. The university will release the initial BDS selection list on January 13, 2027.
UHS has established dedicated digital portals to accept submissions. Medical applicants must submit their forms through privatembbs.uhs.edu.pk, while dental applicants will register through privatebds.uhs.edu.pk once admissions open. UHS has instructed applicants to thoroughly check each institution's tuition fees, campus location, and educational facilities prior to submitting college preferences, noting that all merit lists will be published on its official portal.
