The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has confirmed that the official PMDC MBBS admission criteria remain unchanged, requiring candidates to score at least 60 percent marks in intermediate examinations to qualify for medical and dental programs across the country.
In a clarification issued to address claims circulating on digital platforms, the regulatory body dismissed suggestions that academic thresholds had been lowered. The council reaffirmed that intermediate results remain a core benchmark for applicants seeking entrance to healthcare institutes.
Nationwide Eligibility Requirement
According to the council, students must obtain a minimum of 60 percent in FSc Pre-Medical or an equivalent qualification to remain eligible for undergraduate medical study. This standard applies equally to candidates applying for both MBBS and BDS degrees across all provinces.
The regulatory body emphasised that this policy covers both public sector universities and private medical institutions. In addition to meeting the 60 percent intermediate score, aspiring medical students must also satisfy all other standard regulatory conditions set by the authority.
Response to Social Media Speculation
The clarification followed unverified reports suggesting that entry thresholds had been relaxed for the current academic cycle. The PMDC reiterated that existing admission regulations remain fully active and that no concession has been granted to lower the academic baseline.
Authorities stated that enforcing uniform standards is necessary to ensure consistent academic quality among candidates entering professional healthcare education nationwide.
Aasan alfaaz mein
