In QWP news today, Qaumi Watan Party chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said governor’s rule and emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be withdrawn as soon as possible so democracy can return and fundamental rights are not violated. Speaking to journalists in Tangi tehsil of Charsadda, he argued that peace, democratic government and constitutional protections are essential for the province’s progress.

Call to lift governor’s rule and emergency

Mr Sherpao said governor’s rule and the imposition of an emergency are not good measures. “The governor’s rule and imposition of an emergency are not good measures. We want governor’s rule and emergency to be withdrawn as soon as possible,” he told reporters. He urged the governor to focus on restoring peace, saying terrorism cannot be ended overnight but that an early end to violence remains vital.

He linked security directly to the economy: without peace, he said, economic stability and development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will stay out of reach. On the wider political climate, he noted talk of a possible change of chief minister, but insisted that eliminating terrorism should take priority over political manoeuvring.

Funds, NFC dues and welfare priorities

Referring to an Apex Committee meeting, Mr Sherpao said a proposed allocation of Rs160 billion for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was insufficient given the province’s long fight against terrorism and its economic pressures. He said the province should receive its due share under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award—the formula for sharing federal revenues with the provinces—along with constitutional entitlements such as net hydel profit and gas royalty, paid on time to strengthen finances and speed development.

Public welfare, he argued, should be the government’s top priority. He alleged that no meaningful practical steps for people’s welfare and prosperity had been taken over the last 13 years. Criticising the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) provincial government, he said it had focused on protests, sit-ins and marches for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan instead of solving everyday problems. On the anti-encroachment drive, he said the government should set clear priorities and also act against officials who allowed encroachments.

Shabqadar gathering and party message

In related QWP news today from Shabqadar, provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao told a public gathering that the region had seen bloodshed and unrest for the last 20 to 25 years. He urged both the federal government and the provincial setup to fulfil their responsibilities and take effective steps to end uncertainty. He voiced concern over unequal development across the country and said people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have equal rights to development, public services and economic opportunities, including quality education and essential facilities for children.

Aasan alfaaz mein

QWP ke chairman Aftab Sherpao ne kaha hai ke KP mein governor rule aur emergency jald khatam honi chahiye. Un ka kehna hai ke democracy aur logon ke haqooq wapas aane chahiye. Woh kehte hain pehle atankwadi khatam ho aur amn aaye, phir siyasi khel. Shabqadar mein party ke provincial chairman ne bhi hukumat se amn aur barabar taraqqi ka matlab kiya.
