The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), Pakistan’s federal agency that fights illegal narcotics, has arrested seven drug suppliers, including a woman, and seized about 99 kilograms of narcotics in an ANF drug seizure spanning five separate operations in different cities.
Officials said the raids were aimed at international drug smuggling, movement of drugs between provinces, and local distribution networks. Cases have been registered against the suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997—the main federal law that criminalises trafficking and possession of narcotics—and further legal steps are under way.
What was recovered in each operation
In an operation against international smuggling, ANF personnel recovered 2.4 kilograms of ice—crystal methamphetamine, a highly addictive stimulant—from a passenger travelling to Saudi Arabia. The supplier was arrested at the scene.
Near the Motorway Toll Plaza in Islamabad, an intelligence-based ANF drug seizure from two vehicles yielded 49.2 kilograms of hashish. Five suspects, including a woman, were taken into custody.
Near Ghouri Town in Islamabad, officers recovered 16.8 kilograms of hashish and 300 grams of ice from a vehicle, along with a .30-bore pistol and 10 rounds of ammunition. One suspect was arrested.
Separately, near Dalbandin Bypass in District Chagai, an intelligence-led raid recovered 30 kilograms of opium from a vehicle. In Peshawar, 300 grams of opium were found hidden inside an electric iron in a parcel at a private courier office.
Where the operations took place
The five actions stretched from the federal capital area to Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Islamabad saw two vehicle-based recoveries—one at the motorway toll plaza and another near Ghouri Town—while Chagai and Peshawar accounted for the opium finds, including the courier concealment.
Together, the seizures of ice, hashish and opium add up to the roughly 99-kilogram haul reported after the five operations.
What happens next
With CNSA cases already registered, the arrested suppliers face investigation and court proceedings. The ANF has not publicly named the seven suspects beyond stating that one is a woman. Authorities say legal action will continue as the cases move forward.
