The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrests conmen in Karachi after taking two men into custody for allegedly posing as secret agency officials and cheating citizens, agency sources said on Sunday.

Arrests in Korangi Industrial Area

The suspects, identified as Muzammil and Hamza, were held in the Korangi Industrial Area. NCCIA sources said the pair had been involved in cheating incidents while pretending to be officials of secret agencies.

How the alleged scam worked

According to the NCCIA, the men were duping people with false claims of influence and links in government departments. They allegedly made false promises about transfers and postings and tried to create a false sense of trust so victims would hand over cash. NCCIA sources said the money was taken in the name of secret agencies.

Case registered

A case has been registered against the arrested suspects. With the NCCIA arrests conmen accused of using fake agency credentials, people who were approached for money over government jobs or transfers may want to treat such claims with caution and deal only through official channels.
