The district administration in Tank has imposed a curfew for Saturday, October 24, citing security concerns. Movement across the district is restricted from 6am to 7pm, and the Tank curfew covers the wider region rather than only the main roads.

Hours and routes covered

Deputy commissioner Jamshed Khan issued the order under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, a law that lets authorities restrict movement and gatherings when public order is at risk. Traffic has been completely suspended on the Jandola-Tank-Gomal Zam Dam Road. Restrictions also apply to major routes from Dabra to the bypass, Kor Qila, Khargai and Ranwal.

Bazaars and exemptions

The administration said the Ranwal and Jandola bazaars will remain closed during the same 6am to 7pm window. Law enforcement agencies, ambulances and emergency services have been exempted from the restrictions, so emergency movement is not covered by the order.

What residents are asked to do

The administration has urged residents to avoid unnecessary movement and to comply with the restrictions, given the prevailing security situation in Tank. The announced hours cover Saturday only, and no further steps were detailed. Residents should follow official notices from the district administration for any changes.
