The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) has set a revised KPPSC Sub Inspector exam schedule for Sub-Inspector (BPS-14) posts under the Fast Track Promotion Quota of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. According to an official notification dated 23 October 2026, the written examinations will run from 26 January to 4 February 2027 under Advertisement No. 05/2026, Serial No. 02.

When and how the papers will be held

KPPSC has lined up eight papers. Every sitting is in the evening session. Candidates must reach their designated centres by 1:00 PM. Each paper starts at 2:00 PM and finishes at 5:00 PM.

The subjects span criminal laws, police rules, and case-file preparation, as well as forensic science, intelligence work, English, computer literacy, and general knowledge—skills the commission expects of officers seeking promotion into Sub-Inspector roles.

Paper-by-paper subjects

On 26 January 2027, the opening paper will cover selected provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code 1860, the Criminal Procedure Code 1898, and the Qanun-e-Shahadat Order 1984 (rules of evidence used in Pakistani courts).

On 27 January, candidates will face local and special laws, police rules, and constitutional fundamental rights, plus Khyber Pakhtunkhwa laws, the Anti-Terrorism Act, and the Control of Narcotic Substances Act.

28 January is set aside for Case Files Preparation (Practical), focusing on offences under local and special laws and the Pakistan Penal Code that carry punishments of up to seven years’ imprisonment. On 29 January, the paper will cover PPW, forensic science, and medical jurisprudence.

After the weekend, 1 February 2027 brings Intelligence, Surveillance and Security—covering intelligence sources, surveillance methods, and security for public gatherings, religious events, and sensitive sites. English Composition and Comprehension follows on 2 February, testing crime incident reports, official police applications, sentence construction, and fill-in-the-blank work.

3 February is Computer Literacy: basic Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, plus internet browsing and email. The KPPSC written test date window closes on 4 February 2027 with Pakistan Affairs and General Knowledge.
