The Balochistan government has launched a telehealth application called Sehat Dehleez, which gives people free medical consultations with qualified doctors. The service is meant for residents across the province, particularly those in remote areas where a trip to a clinic is difficult. Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced the launch in a statement on X.

How the service works

The app offers consultations around the clock, covering general health, maternal and child health, and guidance on common illnesses. Residents can consult doctors from home, which reduces the need to travel for people who live where healthcare is limited. The chief minister said the initiative is intended for people who struggle to reach medical facilities, especially during extreme weather.

The People's Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) Balochistan introduced the service to improve access to timely medical advice through digital technology. Users can reach Sehat Dehleez through a web application and an Android app, and the organisation has provided QR codes that residents can scan to get started.

Early response

Bugti said the service received 791 consultation calls on its first day, and 495 consultations were completed. Of those calls, 718 included location information, which he said showed people reached across 35 districts. He described the response as a clear sign of the trust people place in the initiative.

The figures come from the chief minister's statement and have not been independently verified. The government has not yet released details on how the service will be expanded or how long it will remain free.
