What the Multan zone announced
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Multan zone said on Friday that its teams had taken seven people into custody across several files. The matters range from alleged travel-document scams to claimed misuse of national identity records and a disputed consignment of imported grain valued at more than Rs15.4 million.
Officials framed the detentions as separate actions rather than a single operation. A spokesperson said questioning and further inquiries remain open in every file.
Travel-document cases in Bahawalpur and Karachi
In Bahawalpur, the composite circle said it detained Zawar Hussain of Ahmadpur East, listed as a proclaimed offender, over an alleged job-visa racket. The agency says a complainant paid him Rs450,000 after being told he would be sent to the United Arab Emirates for work, and that the promise was not kept. Custody followed the cancellation or expiry of pre-arrest protection, according to the agency account.
Separately, the Multan anti-human trafficking circle said it detained Muhammad Saleem of Khanewal in Karachi on 29 October. Investigators allege he took Rs1.891 million while claiming he could secure Umrah travel papers for a complainant and relatives, then handed over documents that were not genuine.
Nadra staff and Afghan CNIC claims
The Multan anti-corruption circle reported the detention of three assistant superintendents of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra)—the body that issues computerised national identity cards (CNICs)—posted at the M.A. Jinnah Road office in Multan. They were named as Sohail Akhtar, Muhammad Rifat Iqbal and Waris Naseem.
FIA officers allege the trio helped place Afghan nationals onto Pakistani household records so they could obtain CNICs, in return for money. During questioning, Sohail Akhtar is said to have stated he had worked as a Nadra go-between for about three to four years and had helped enrol roughly 14 to 15 Afghan nationals. Investigators also said they found WhatsApp exchanges with Nadra staff on his phone.
On pricing, the agency account attributes to him a claim that each card cost Rs300,000, split evenly three ways: Rs100,000 for Nadra staff, Rs100,000 for host families, and Rs100,000 kept as his cut.
Imported wheat and Passco bills
In another Multan anti-corruption file, officers said they detained Muhammad Shafiq, a commission agent from Dunyapur, and Muhammad Shabir of Kahror Pacca in Lodhran district. The allegation is that, with others, they diverted 1,000 bags of imported wheat worth Rs15.46 million and cashed Passco—Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation—grain bills against varied CNICs, harming public funds.
The spokesperson repeated that work on every case is still under way.
Aasan alfaaz mein
FIA Multan ne kaha hai ke us ne saat logon ko alag alag mamlat mein pakra hai.
