Five people were killed when a passenger bus and a car collided head-on on Jhool Road in Tando Adam, Sanghar district, on Sunday. The dead and injured were taken to Taluka Hospital in Tando Adam. Police later took the bus into custody, while its driver fled the scene.

What is known about the crash

The collision involved a passenger bus and a car travelling on the Tando Adam–Jhool Road. One detailed account said the car was carrying residents of village Bilawal Khoso, near Saeedabad. Four people in the car were reported dead at the site. A fifth person later died after being moved for care — accounts differ on that victim’s identity and where death was confirmed.

In the fuller named account, those killed at the scene included 48-year-old Manoo, son of Nanji Kolhi; his 40-year-old wife Neela; Ramo, son of Mano Kolhi; and five-year-old Dewal, son of Ramo Kolhi. That account said a three-year-old child, Ramo, son of Kanyo Kolhi, later died at hospital. A separate account from rescue officials said the fifth death was a woman identified as Gulaye Kolhi, who died while being taken toward Hyderabad. The two versions have not been reconciled in the material available.

Injured and hospital care

Reports also disagree on the number of injured. One account said three women were seriously hurt: 30-year-old Heri, wife of Ramo Kolhi; 30-year-old Gulali, wife of Veeram Kolhi; and Nisha, daughter of Manoo Kolhi. Another put the injured at four. After first aid at Taluka Hospital, Tando Adam, the most critical patients were referred to Hyderabad. After legal formalities, bodies were handed to the heirs. At the time one account was filed, no case had yet been registered.

Allegations and the police inquiry

Heirs of the deceased alleged that the bus was travelling at high speed, moved onto the wrong side of the road while overtaking, and then hit the car. Police are investigating. The bus is in custody; the driver remains at large according to that account.

Road crashes of this kind are a recurring safety concern on busy district roads in Sindh, where buses and smaller vehicles often share the same stretch. For families in and around Tando Adam and Saeedabad, the immediate needs are hospital care, burial arrangements, and a clear police record of what happened.
