ABHI Microfinance Bank is preparing a Pakistan Stock Exchange float that could bring in as much as three billion rupees. It will issue 132 million ordinary shares, with large-investor bidding in early November and a public application window later the same month. Coverage of the deal has also put the upper hard-currency target near $10.8 million.
How the float is priced and timed
Exchange filings put the floor at Rs15 a share, already including a Rs5 premium. Institutional and wealthy buyers are earmarked 99 million shares—three-quarters of the issue—in a two-day book build on 5 and 6 November. The band may rise by as much as half, so the top of the range is Rs22.50. If every share clears only at the floor, gross cash would be about Rs1.98 billion. Four firms—Arif Habib Limited, Topline Securities Limited, Growth Securities (Private) Limited and Dawood Equities Limited—are underwriting the public portion. Individuals can subscribe on 12 and 13 November.
Why the bank wants fresh equity
Management says the money will mainly enlarge its credit book and rebuild the capital cushion supervisors watch. That cushion is the capital adequacy ratio (CAR)—capital held against risk-weighted assets—and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the central bank, sets a minimum for microfinance banks. The lender projects that IPO cash plus earnings will take CAR to about 4.3 percent by the close of 2026, then to about 17.8 percent as 2027 ends, above the 15 percent SBP floor for this class of banks. It forecasts roughly Rs2.927 billion of profit in calendar 2026, including about Rs1.5 billion in the second half of that year, with further retained earnings expected in 2027 to support compliance.
Network, products and owners
The bank reaches customers digitally and through more than 114 outlets in over 108 cities. Its mix includes gold-secured credit, digital facilities that advance wages or lend against salaries, finance for merchants, and small-business credit linked to farming and livestock. ABHI (Private) Limited holds 73.73 percent of the bank; TPL Corp Limited holds 26.27 percent.
