Sudan drone strikes since Sunday have left more than 100 dead, with attacks reaching Khartoum, the army-held capital, and two western zones held by paramilitary forces. The deadliest single strike hit a transport hub in West Kordofan, where residents and medical workers put the death toll at 80.

The attack took place on Sunday evening near a market in Al-Dibab, a town in the southwestern state of West Kordofan. That area is controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary group that has fought Sudan's military since April 2023. Residents said villagers had come together after a market day to look for rides home when the drone hit.

Sudan drone strikes in Kordofan: dead and wounded

Ahmed Abakar Wadi, a resident who helped with burials, said 50 bodies were recovered at the scene, among them his brother. A further 47 injured people were moved to Al-Mujlad, a nearby town, where a medical source said 30 later died. Wadi said the drone struck once, then returned about ten minutes later and struck again.

The RSF's self-declared administration, known as Tasis, and the rights group Emergency Lawyers have blamed the army for the attack. These accusations have not been independently confirmed, and no army response to them is reported here.

The strike was among the deadliest in Kordofan, an oil-rich region that links western and eastern Sudan and where the army and RSF have been fighting over territory.

Attacks on Nyala, Khartoum and eastern dams

Sudan drone strikes also reached Nyala early on Monday, a stronghold of the RSF in South Darfur. Accounts from medics and the RSF put the toll at 17 dead, seven of them RSF officers, and 23 injured. A drone hit the heart of the city, destroying two homes.

On Monday morning, a drone hit a house east of Khartoum airport, killing four people. A medical source said three of the dead were children between two and six years old.

An army official said Sudanese air defences stopped RSF drones heading for the airport and surrounding districts. A military source also said several RSF drones were intercepted as they went for the Atbara and Setit dams in eastern Sudan.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Sudan mein pichle chand dinon se drone hamlon mein 100 se zyada log hilaak ho chuke hain, jin mein sab se zyada tadad West Kordofan ke ek transport hub par hui. Khartoum, Nyala aur dusre ilaqon mein bhi hamlay hue, aur Khartoum ke ek ghar mein teen bachay bhi hilaak huye. Yeh jang April 2023 se army aur RSF ke darmiyan jaari hai. Pakistan mein aam logon par iska seedha asar nahi bataya gaya, lekin Sudan mein rishtedaar rakhne walon ke liye yeh khabar fikr ka baais hai.
