Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has told students in its Associate Degree in Arts and Commerce and BA Open Courses programmes that assignments must now be submitted online. According to an official notification issued by the university, the change takes effect from the Autumn 2026 semester and covers both new and continuing students. Under the new AIOU assignment submission system, the older routes of posting or handing in work are closed.

How the online process works

All affected students must submit their assignments through the AIOU Aaghi Learning Management System (LMS), a university web portal. Work can be written by hand or typed, but it must then be converted into PDF files before it is uploaded. The university has named its official portal, aaghi.aiou.edu.pk, as the place for uploads.

Which submission methods are ending

The university said it will no longer accept assignments sent by registered post. This applies to Associate Degree (old BA/B.Com) students and BA Open Courses students. AIOU has also prohibited students from submitting assignments directly to their tutors in person.

What happens next

AIOU has instructed all affected students to use the Aaghi LMS for assignment submission from the Autumn 2026 semester onward. Students who have relied on postal or in-person delivery will need to move their work to the portal. The notification is the university's official instruction, so students should follow its guidance for the upload process.

Aasan alfaaz mein

AIOU ne Associate Degree aur BA Open Courses ke students ke liye assignments ab Aaghi LMS portal par PDF mein upload karna lazmi kar diya hai. Ab registered post aur tutor ko haath se di gayi assignments qabool nahin hongi. Ye qayda Autumn 2026 semester se lagu hoga. Handwritten ya typed kaam ko pehle PDF bana kar online bhejna hoga.
